Small Ciliate

This post and the above post were not from the Infusoria culture. These were from a sample of pond algae.

In case you can’t see the ciliate in the photo above, I circled it with a conspicuous red circle. If you still have trouble finding it, move on to the next post or to previous posts on ciliates.

For the more experienced readers, this (Oligohymenophorean?) ciliate possessed a small ventral cytostome as well as what appeared to be 2 or 3 paroral membranes; I assume a small AZM would be present as well. The cytostome was positioned towards the left side of the cell. The pellicle was clearly ridged. It was harder to tell, but the somatic cilia appeared to be in rows along the pellicle ridges.
